Power Line Hazards
Sat Oct 11, about 2:45 PM · PANAMA CITY · Bay County

Storm-damaged power equipment is still causing hazards on Panama City roads. Around 2:45 PM Saturday, fire crews were called to West Highway 98 near West 19th Street in St. Andrew, where lines were arcing with visible flashes and a pole was left dangling from a wire.
A little earlier, an officer confirmed the traffic light on West 23rd Street near the 23rd Street Plaza was completely dark, with county traffic engineering called out. City officials say outages are still knocking out signals around town, so treat any dark intersection as a four-way stop and stay well back from damaged poles and lines.
