What’s biting

Report week: Sept. 18–24, 2026

Nearshore & offshore

Reef fishing has variety

Gag grouper, amberjack, red snapper, triggerfish and vermilion snapper are giving crews options when Gulf conditions allow.

Far offshore

Yellowfin tuna are active

Regional crews report a strong rig bite, including fish over 100 pounds. This is a long-range Gulf report, not a nearshore forecast.

Best local clue: Time bridge and pass fishing around moving water. If one section is quiet, move along the structure instead of assuming the bite is over.
