Fourth Elevator Rescue
Sun Oct 11, 2026 at 6:06 AM CT · PANAMA CITY BEACH · Bay County

Beach firefighters just got their fourth elevator call in about a day. The latest came around 6:06 AM, with a person stuck on the second floor of the Fairfield Inn on Front Beach Road. Yesterday crews were called to free people at the Dunes of Panama and a Front Beach Road resort tower, and late last night someone was stuck between floors at a Seagrass Drive building.
Storms and power flickers across the beach are the likely common thread. Preliminary scanner traffic – not official reports.
